As emblematic of East Germany as the Trabant, the Wartburg 311 was released in 1955, and came in coupe, cabriolet, torpedo and several estates. Most of the cars produced were 4-door sedans. Barely 5,500 units of this 4-door coupé were made between 1957 and 1965, out of a total of 250,000 Wartburg 311s.
