As emblematic of East Germany as the Trabant, the Wartburg 311 was released in 1955, and came in coupe, cabriolet, torpedo and several estates. Most of the cars produced were 4-door sedans. During four years only, between 1956 and 1960, 2,670 units of this 4-seat 311-2 convertible were made, out of a total of 250,000 Wartburg 311s.
