The Taunus saga tentatively started in 1939 and “for real” in 1948. A second generation was launched in 1952 with the 12M and 15M, followed by this 1957 P2 17M, whose stretched fenders were inspired by American models. But it was a true German Ford. As its name suggests, it receives a 1.7-litre engine. 236,500 units were produced before its bodywork was renewed in late 1960.
