Launched on April 17, 1964 in the USA, the Mustang is immediately tremendously successful: 680,000 units are manufactured in the first 18 months! As early as September, this already famous coupé participates in the Tour de France Automobile. Four Mustangs take part to the race, including this one, driven by the Swedish pilots Bo Ljungfeldt and Fergus Sager, who gave up before the end.
