Description
The 2nd-generation 5 Series, launched in 1981, was the first to offer a high-performance variant, the M5, that delivered 286 hp. To link this exclusive version to the rest of the range, the 5 Series also offered the 535i from the end of 1984, whose 3.4-litre 6-cylinder already developed 218 hp. An M535i version of the 535i, which closely resembles the M5, was also available.
