Initially a BMW tuning business, Alpina became a brand in its own in 1984, though still faithful to BMW. This B6 3.5 S launched in 1988 is an evolution of the 1985 3.5 B6 3.5, but also a high-performance version of the M3. At the time, the M3 was equipped with a “small” 4-cylinder 200 hp, while the Alpina had a 3.4-litre 6-cylinder 261 hp.
