Released in 1977, this small British hatchback looks like the Simca Horizon, its Franco-American cousin launched in 1978. Except that it had only two doors and was a rear-wheel drive. Sold from 1980 under the Talbot brand, like the Horizon, the Sunbeam was a lot hotter when "adapted" by Lotus. Here we have this rally version, ready to race, with no sponsors.

When released in late 1981, the Samba looked like a restyled and stretched Peugeot 104 Coupé. The range includes, alongside the Cabriolet, three trim levels: the LS, the 50 hp 1.1-litre GL and the 72 hp 1.4-litre GLS. Although this diecast model does not mention this detail, here we have a GLS that receives, like the GL, side protection bands, but also specific 5-hole rims instead of 8.

Many coachbuilders bodied the 6-cylinder 4.5-litre Talbot T26. After WWII, factory-built bodies awkwardly combined the style of the period with pre-war chassis. So customers often bought bare chassis and had them bodied by independent coachbuilders. This Lago Grand Sport T26 (chassis 110110), designed by Saoutchik, was exhibited at the 1949 Geneva Motor Show.

Wishing to offer a less expensive model than the Lago Grand Sport, Talbot unveiled a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder at the 1954 Paris Salon. This coupe, launched one year later, was equipped with this engine. Here we have the standard version, which received side vents, round turn lights and sliding windows. The Whitebox model car in 1 :43 scale is simpler than the Spark version.

In June 1937, the coachbuilder Figoni & Falaschi unveiled this extraordinary "teardrop" bodywork, based on the chassis of the Talbot Lago SS. Like Spark, Minichamps reproduced here a T150 with exposed wheels. Some cars had streamlined wheels. You can see this brown model at the Mullin Museum in California.

In June 1937 the French coachbuilder Figoni & Falaschi unveiled this extraordinary car, based on the chassis of the Talbot Lago SS. Thanks to its teardrop design (also known as Goutte d’eau), the car could go 20 km/h (or 12.4 mph) faster than the other Talbot bodies. Spark reproduced, in resin, a version with unskirted wheels.

Sunbeam and Talbot both have a French origin. In 1938, the Rootes brothers associated these brands in Great Britain, until 1954 when the name Talbot was withdrawn. This 1950 restyled "90", which borrowed a lot of parts from the Humber Hawk, can be identified thanks to its additional grilles on both sides of the main front grille. Also available in bronze colour, white (ivory) and green.
