Norman Timbs designed this extraordinary concept car in 1948. Timbs worked with Preston Tucker, among others, and was fascinated by the design of German sports cars of the 1930s (Mercedes, Auto Union). The 5.5 meter/217 in.-long Special roadster houses a mid-mounted Buick 8-cylinder. This prototype remained unique, fell into oblivion for a long time and was only restored from 2002.
